Relax and Pontoon Day

We had a very leisurely morning. No alarms needed to get going at a certain time.

My cozy quiet corner.  I could work on my blog and watch the birds

Once everyone was up we had a nice breakfast of coffee and Tobie caramel pecan rolls.  Yummy.  They were big enough that we could cut each one in half.

While we were sitting and having breakfast, Jay looked out and saw a wolf!! Wow.  Kris got the best picture.

We did a neighborhood walk.  We were looking for Kris' package that was supposed to have been delivered.  We never found it, so Kris will try to get a refund.
The pontoon.  We will go out with it later today.

We packed up a picnic lunch to take down to the pontoon so that we could have a nice relaxing time out on the water.   Jay had done most of the work getting the pontoon ready.

Jeanne helped with the last bit of getting the pontoon ready

The rest of us helped as best we could.

Once the pontoon was all ready to go Jay discovered that it was low on gas.  When he went for gas we had our first course of lunch.  Craig (the pastor from their church) joined us.

We were on our way about 12:30 pm.

What a gorgeous day to be out.  We went around Farm Lake and Garden Lake

As we were on our way back the propeller hit something.  What a noise it made.  After that we went more slowly.  We did not know what kind of damage was done.

Active beaver house in the bay near Jeanne and Jay's place.

When we got back to Jeanne and Jay's we headed back up to the house.  Craig helped Jay get the pontoon out of the water.  Jay will take it somewhere to have it winterized.  It was nice that they had left the pontoon out just for us. Once it is winterized they will cover it for the winter.

They got a picture of the damaged propellor.

While Kris and Sharon were napping, Jeanne made a birthday cake for Jay.  We are celebrating a belated birthday (his birthday was 3 weeks ago).

Jay had a meeting to go to so we had an early dinner.  Craig stayed for dinner.

Jay and Craig are cooking the pork chops.  Jeanne did the carrots and the steamed red potatoes.

What a feast.

Jay and Craig had to eat and run.

We needed to go to the grocery store after dinner.  Jeanne needed whipped cream so that she could finish icing the cake. I needed to get more Zup's seasoning. Sharon and Kris each had things they wanted to look for, so we all went.

I tried to get a sun picture.  It looked very pink.  The color does not show up well in my picture.

We all stood around and watched Jeanne ice the cake.  It needs to chill over night, so we will have it for dinner tomorrow.

We all took turns doing our laundry today.  After we were done with the cake, kitchen clean up and the last load of laundry, we settled in to watch a movie.  We  had planned to watch Golda but there was a $20 charge to watch it.  So we picked 'The Book Club, the Next Chapter.'  It was especially fun to watch since we have been to Italy together.

  1. I think the wolf is the highlight. We just have coyotes here.

  3. It looks like a very slow and relaxing day. Sometimes it takes a day or two to actually accomplish the slow down. But I'm sure with all your practice it was no problem.
