Off to Berlin

 Jeanne and I arrived at the airport about 4 hours before our flight.  We had been told to get here 3 hours early for international flights.  

We nabbed a security person to take our picture.  We checked in at the United counter because we had to show our passport and because our first flight was with United. There was no one in line so it went pretty quickly.  Then we went through security.  That also did not take very long so we got to our gate with more than 3 hours to spare.  

I wandered around a bit and took some pictures.  I wanted to get this posting off.  The next one won't be until Saturday evening from Berlin.

We are flying United to Chicago.  We only have 1 hour in Chicago to get to our Lufthansa flight.  From Chicago we fly to Munich and then to Berlin.  Sharon and Kris are flying from Portland to Seattle on Alaska and from there they connect with Lufthansa to fly to  Munich and then to Berlin. They get to Berlin about 2 hours after we get there on Saturday.

This looks like a fun sandwich place.  We may pick up sandwiches from them to take on the plane.
