So last night after a brief rest. We went out to dinner to the Aux Lyonnaise. (Lyon style food) They were friendly and did not seem to mind translating the menu for us and telling us about each dish. The wines especially have been good and also fairly cheaply priced. Each place we have been we have had the range of delicious things mixed with things we are not likely to order again. So far our favorite restaurant was Wednesday night spontaneous find of l"ami Georges. They were the most personable and the food was good. Maybe we will go back there before the end of our stay. We will see.
So far our days are settling in to a routine of: up about 7am to get us all through the bathroom and showered. Breakfast at a cafe. Then we hit the road. Sharon has planned our days nicely to get to know different areas of Paris. We have lunch out somewhere and then some mid-afternoon cafe stop to rest our feet and catch our breath. Then home to refresh, maybe take a power nap before we go out to dinner which has been around 9pm. Last night our reservation was 9:30pm. Then we head home again to plan for the next day's activities. By midnight we are ready to crash.
We are finding that everything is taking longer than planned and so we have left something off of each day. But better than than sitting around with nothing to do.
I continue to have ISSUES with the blog but at least today it has not crashed. Some people have said that they lost one of our days. I am sorry about that. Also curious because from my end it looks like all of the entries are there.
Friday's favorite things: walking in the Tuileries Garden, poking into a few neighborhood shops, wine tasting, seeing the Mona Lisa, lunch on the balcony of the Louvre having lunch. and being impressed with how huge the Louvre is.
So now it is 7am on Saturday and I need to sign off so we can start the day.
