Saturday - Impressionist Adventures

Saturday was a very full day.

We started the day at Sarah Bernhardt's Cafe for breakfast. I think this will be our neighborhood cafe in the future. OJ, croissant, and cafe creme. The croissants were melt-in-your-mouth!

The Musee d'Orsay was the first event of the day. We were not allowed to take pictures inside. But it was fabulous. A gorgeous building full of Impressionist paintings.

The picture here is inside the museum restaurant where we had very good food.

Then we took the metro over to the Musee Marmottan Monet. Another place we were not allowed to take photos. This was a large house full of Monet's private collection of paintings.

Cafe break was in the Tuileries right near the L'Orangerie. We got to try nutella crepes. Yummy. We sure needed the break.

Jennifer in front of a Monet at the L'Orangerie. We went through 2 circular rooms which each had 4 very large Monets. They had soft music playing. Very relaxing.

We went home to refresh and then out to dinner. We were not able to make reservations at the Chartier. It was a very popular place but the line moved along quickly.

Waiting in line to get into the Restaurant Chartier.

Barbara and Jennifer at the Chartier waiting for our steak frites. Yummy. Quite an unusual place.

Wrote our order and then later our bill on the paper table cloth. Though I don't know how the waiter could read his writing.

Bar Hemingway at the Ritz. What a classy way to end the evening.

All in all a fabulous day, not only because of the art but all of our meals were stellar. Only a few times of getting lost when coming out of the metro. Not actually lost but just finding where we wanted to go.
