Thursday in Paris

view from our window

entry way of the hotel

the hotel.
We left the hotel and went to look for an ATM  (for some cash), a pharmacy (for coffee drops for me and advil for Sharon) and the metro stop (to buy a book of metro tickets).  Then we walked to the Picasso Museum.  We got there a little early but the gift shop was open so we could look.  Since we had tickets already we got to go in first.  Definitely worth it because there was a long line.

interesting light fixtures

It was a big building.  This ws only one side.

no line when we left.
We walked over to the neighborhood where we had stayed before.  Ate lunch at the Crepierie Beaubourg.  Yummy.  I had a ham, cheese, tomato and egg crepe with salad and wine.  We ordered a pitcher of wine and I was expecting a beer pitcher like at McMenamins

cool clock
I had a new experience - I used one of the public toilets that are out and about.  Very embarrassing.  So public.  But they are free and they are available.  But you can't flush while you are in there.  It is automatic when you leave. The door swings open when you push the button.  Then when you leave the door shuts again and it flushes then it will open for the next person.  There was a long line when I used it. Naturally all men, all of them trying to to give me advise in French.  In hindsight it was pretty funny.

We walked back to the hotel and put our feet up for a little while.  We had walked about 5 miles.  Soon we will head out to dinner.
one more sunset picture.

  1. Interesting that there are no satellite dishes on the rooftops.
Speaking of public restrooms, I've been on trains (I forget which country) where they have a window in the door so you can tell if it's occupied by looking in.

  3. Glad that the visit to the Picasso Museum worked out so well. Funny story about using the RR - they certainly aren't that easy to find or at least the type we're used to anyway!

  4. Yes, there are probably at least 3 more sides, right? Those look like industrial strength wine glasses.
