Another tour and a bar hop

We landed at Piazza San Marco and had to hotfoot it clear across town to the Rialto bridge where we met up with our other tour.

Alessandro took us on an off-beat tour.
Note the times on this clock.  1 is at the 3 o'clock position and it goes to 24.

These flowers are made of glass.

Alessandro was an enjoyable speaker but definitely feels that tourists are the root of all of Venice's problems.  When we were finished with this tour we started the classic bars tour with the same guide.

We were serenaded at our second bar.

Good food.

What an evening.  We had plenty to eat and drink.

Now that was a lot more fun.  I wish that we had just cancelled the off-beat tour.  That would have made our schedule a little more relaxed.  But who knew.

From there we went to a Vivaldi concert at a church near our hotel. WOW.  They had 2 encores.  The final piece was one where they plucked on the violins.  What a way to end the evening.  Then home.  I tried to blog but had trouble with the internet.  So I left it until Sunday morning.

  1. Venice isn't the center of the commercial world like it once was.
You all seem to be enjoying the wine.

  2. So ... the TOUR guide of the tour you went on thinks that TOURISTS are the root of all of Venice's problems? Hmm...
