Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens

After our cooking class we were free to head off and do whatever we wanted.  We went directly to the Pitti Palace.  It was very close.  As usual we could not take pictures indoors.  We thought we had bought a combination ticket but we found out that there are different types of combination tickets.  So Jeanne, Joyce and I did not get into the palace museum but we saw the costumes and a few other things and then we spent the majority of our time in the garden.  Joyce went off exploring, Sharon and  Kris went back and bought a different ticket so that they could see some of the art that they wanted to see.

Joyce had already hiked up the hill and did not want to do it again so she was waiting for us at the bottom.  

As we went up the hill there was heron on the statue.  It very nicely sat there for a lot of photos.  Then when we were coming back down it had moved.

After we left the Pitti Palace we had to scurry back to the Accedemia to see the original David.  That was very impressive.  It is amazing what a different location makes as well as knowing that it was original not a copy.  We were very lucky to be able to see it.  It was scheduled for Wednesday instead of Tuesday but we had a conflict.  So Martin got tickets for us to go early.  We had a chance to get back to the hotel to regroup after that.
