We took a morning vaporetto ride up the Grand Canal to the Rialto bridge. Then we got off and started searching for a few places. What we are told is that you can not get lost you can just get misplaced.
First stop - hot chocolate at Caffe al Ponte del Lovo. WOW!!
All sorts of things in the Rialto market. Fresh fruit looked good. Then a very leisurely walk back to the hotel to meet with the Rick Steves tour group. We have 26 people in our group from all over the USA.
Back to Piazza San Marco. The water level is going back down. I guess it was completely flooded by the end of yesterday.
We had dinner at La Feluca Ristorante. We had either salmon or fish of the sea and pasta as well as a caprise salad and a pannacotta dessert. Yummy and PLENTY of wine.
We topped off the evening with a gondola ride. We had 4 boats. One boat had a singer and an accordion player. It was getting dark so I could not get many pictures but it was a very enjoyable experience. Well worth it.
We then walked home. Tomorrow we have quite a full day planned.
Looks like it stopped raining, at least.
ReplyDeleteI suppose the salmon came from the North Atlantic. (It's a northern fish, not native to the Mediterranean.)
I am enjoying your blog and pictures!
ReplyDeleteWow! Looks beautiful despite the rain. Hope you're all having fun!
ReplyDeleteOh, Piazza San Marco, I built one of those in my computer game!
