Angelina's and musuems

We met Giselle at Angelina's for breakfast.  Nice treat to see her.  She is on her way to her home in France.  She will be there for 6 weeks.

I had eggs Benedict, hot chocolate and OJ.  It was yummy.

Then we walked a bit to get to a metro stop
Place vendome

Opera
We went to the Jacquemart-Andre to see the special exhibit, from Zurbaran to Rothko
We had a 11 am timed entry time, we got there at 11:25.  We could not take pictures.

This is a picture of a postcard in the gift shop of a picture by Toulouse--Lautrec which I had liked.  It was a huge house.  We only went through part of it.
We then headed to the Grand Palais, galleries for the Rodin exhibit and the Jardin exhibit.  The Rodin was a timed entry of 3 pm so we went to the Jardin exhibit first.
It was not just pictures about gardens but all aspects about gardening and plants and art.  They had pressed flowers, garden tools, landscape plans as well as paintings.

"Our garden, that of those in pursuit of knowledge, is a system with no set life span, borders or affiliations, which is nurtured by the dreams of gardeners.  It is a place where tangible and intangible realities are safeguarded.  A mental landscape of hope" by Gilles Clement

Joyce, this looks like something you could quilt.

Robert Hubert.  It was neat the way they displayed some of these paintings.  They made it look like you were looking at the scene through a window.

These hedges seemed a mite close together.

Cool blue tiled room with blue glass fountain. I had to sit on the floor to get the picture

  1. Lots of nice photos. You got a lot done. Your Eggs Benedict looks different than the American version.

  2. You had a full day. The gelato must have hit the spot when you finally got back to your place. From what few (I'm sure there are more) pictures you have posted here, the group saw some really interesting art. The garden related images especially. I wonder how the gardeners get in there to trim those plants. How big was that blue room with the fountain? Sharon can I have one? I'm glad you commented about the rose colored glass because I was first trying to figure out what happened to color. It will be interesting to hear the stories for SOME of the pictures.

    1. the blue room was small. I had to sit on the floor to get a picture inside. All reflective blue tile. Very pretty. The fountain structure was maybe 2 feet tall.

  3. Some of the artwork looks just beautiful. I suspect I'd be wanting gelato at least one a day :)
