We headed out about 4:30 pm after a little down time. We took the metro to go to an early dinner. We walked through some of the Rue Cler area.
Joyce I took this for you
We went to dinner at Cafe Constant. Since we were all still full from lunch we ordered light salads. Jeanne and I each had an artichoke salad, Sharon had the gazpacho soup and Kris had a melon and ham salad. It was very good food but not air conditioned at all. I was very hot.
We wander over close to where our Eiffel tower tour was to start. Since we were early we sat at a corner bistrot and had refreshments. Jeanne and I had lemonades.
Then we went for our skip the lines tour. Ellen from Dublin was very informative and had a nice sense of humor.
We might be on the fat tire tours website in a few weeks. We had to give permission to film us (the whole group, not just us).
misters for people who are waiting in line. But we went right on by.
up the Eiffel tower
some views.
After the tour we went on up to the top.
Of course we had champagne at the top.
We stayed up top to watch some of the sunset
through a champagne glass. wasn't quite what I was going for
After we came down we walked to the metro.
Yippee it worked out that at 10 pm the lights came on the Eiffel tower and they started the twinkling lights. They go for 5 minutes. So cool to be there.
twinkling lights
We were just leaving so we could watch. Then we got the metro home.
Skip the line tours are a wonderful thing :) Great to go at sunset - beautiful views!
