La-de-da Day in Barcelona

Since Kris and Sharon wanted a little more leisurely morning, Jeanne and I went out at 7:30 am, for breakfast.  We found a little pastry shop around the corner from the hotel,  Bakery N Time.

We had cafe amb leiti (or con leche) and I had an apple tart and Jeanne had a muffin.  Then we walked down to the end of Las Rombles to a mall which was supposed to be open Sunday morning.  When we got there we found that it did not open until 10 am.  Jeanne needs to buy a curling iron since hers died.  In fact yesterday morning it got so hot it burned her hair.  Today it would not go on at all.  So we took the metro back to the hotel.

Once Sharon and Kris were ready we went to Granja La Pallaress for churros and hot chocolate.  How decadent is that?  Then we returned to the mall.  It did not have what we wanted.

After going back to the hotel we went to the Barcelona Cathedral to watch the Sardana Dance (traditional dance of Catalunya).  That was fun.  None of us wanted to dance because it was tooooo hot.

There were a lot of circle groups.  The dance has a slow part and a faster part.  When they finished a song they would stop and let new groups form and start again.

It was time to find lunch.  We did some window shopping on our way to lunch.  Also we had to decide where we wanted to go.

Back to the hotel for some down time before the Rick Steves tour.  When we got back to the room they were cleaning it, even though we had put the do not disturb sign on the door.  Jeanne and I had our 0.89 euro bottle of wine.  We decided that it was drinkable but not one we would want to buy again.
